Join Nevada Horse Trails for three days in Ely, Nevada, exploring spectacular high desert trails and chasing peak fall colors in three unique mountain ranges.
We've partnered with the Ely KOA as our basecamp for the weekend. Your campsite and horse accommodations are included in registration. You handle your own breakfasts, trail lunches, and most dinners. We'll take care of the rides!
Together, we'll explore some of eastern Nevada's signature landscapes. Participants should be experienced trail riders with horses that are fit, sure-footed, and comfortable riding in a group over varied mountain terrain.
Arrive at the KOA, get horses settled, set up camp, and have a group orientation. Dinner on your own.
Settle into the weekend with a beautiful ride through the mountains just outside Ely, with fall color, forested terrain and big Great Basin views. You handle your breakfast, trail lunch, and dinner.
Ride beneath the towering Snake Range through classic Great Basin country, with golden aspens, mountain views, and Great Basin National Park as the backdrop. Meals on your own.
We'll close out the weekend with a ride with more great views and some unique Nevada history. Farewell group dinner in town.
Pack up and head home whenever you are ready.
We'll stay four nights at the horse-friendly Ely KOA. Nevada Horse Trails will coordinate your campsite and horse accommodations, so there's no separate campground reservation to make.
This is a bring-your-own-camp setup. Bring your trailer, camping gear, horse feed, and whatever you need to be comfortable for four nights. Meals are mostly on your own. Pack your trail lunches, cook something at camp, or take advantage of being close to Ely and grab food in town.
Ely is located approx. 320 miles east of Reno and 283 miles north of Las Vegas.
Registration for one person and one horse. Includes a full hookup site for LQ or tent and horse stall.
Bring your own feed. Neg. Coggins test required.
We will provide one.
